Fatimah is a forester by profession holding the post of Assistant Conservator of Forests since 1981. She has been the Vice President of Union of Forestry Employees Sarawak since 2000.
She was Chair of the Regional Women's Committee Asia Pacific from 2007 to 2019, and served as Chair of IWC from 2013 to 2017. A BWI Auditor since 2017, Fatimah is also involved with research into Biodiversity in Protected Forests or Permanent Forest Estates, including Forest Management Units.
Heading the Regional Forest Office in Sarikei since 2016, Fatimah takes care of Sustainability Forest Management and is in charge of Enforcement Unit, curbing illegal loggings in Permanent Forest Estates, FMUs and Statelands. She is also involved in implementing STLVS (Sarawak Timber Legality edification System).
Fatimah has been a member of PEFC Standard Revision Working Group: Sustainable Forest Management since 2016.
