Dr Gustavo Zurita is an active member of the NGO Centre for the Atlantic Forest Research (CEIBA), a full-time researcher at the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research of Argentina, and a professor at the School of Forestry of the National University of Misiones.
Dr Zurita's activity focuses on biodiversity conservation and land use in subtropical forests, focusing on the consequences of forestry on animals and ecosystem processes.
Dr Zurita combines a solid academic profile - which includes over 50 high-impact international articles - with his work at CEIBA, within the private sector (mainly forestry companies) and government to promote sustainable management of native and planted forests.
This combination of public and private activity has enabled him to integrate a unique vision of overall sustainability grounded in the results of long-term high-quality research and practical knowledge of forest management.
