History before PEFC
IPMF/PEFC Brazil was founded in 2021 as a movement of actors from Brazilian society to have an organization dedicated to promote the PEFC certification in Brazil, endorsed in 2022 by the PEFC Council.
What are the benefits of being part of the PEFC alliance?
PEFC is a global alliance that allows the sharing of best sustainable forest management practices, projects to give value to forests, connecting different actors and markets worldwide. It's a great alliance with countries committed to promoting better forest management certification.
Through an accessible, practical, bottom-up certification system, we can contribute to sustainable forests in Brazil. Having a system that considers local needs for the development of sustainable forest management standards is fundamental for a comprehensive country like Brazil.
