The Russian National Voluntary Forest Certification System (FCR) has been suspended by the PEFC International Board, in mutual agreement with PEFC Russia. The suspension is effective as of 11 August 2022 and suspension is initially valid until 31 December 2022.

Endorsement milestones

To maintain its PEFC endorsement, the system must meet specific endorsement milestones. The first milestone is the start of the periodic review within five years of the national approval of the sustainable forest management standard.

History before PEFC

Russian National Forest Certification Council (RNCFC) has developed a national forest certification scheme called Russian National Voluntary Forest Certification System (FCR), which has been harmonized, among others, with laws of the Russian Federation, Pan European Operational Level Guidelines (PEOLG) and Technical Standards of PEFC.

In the year 2011, the Russian National Forest Certification Council adopted a resolution delegating its system management authorities to Non-Commercial Partnership “Centre for Development of Forest Certification” – PEFC Russia.

In the year 2013, Russian National Voluntary Forest Certification System got a new name PEFC RUSSIA and was re-registered by PEFC.

2013 - 2015 Non-Commercial Partnership “Centre for Development of Forest Certification” – PEFC Russia updated its system documents in accordance with the new PEFCC requirements and was re-endorsed in PEFC Int.

In the year 2019 our Governing Body was re-registered and renewed its name - ASSOCIATION «CENTRE FOR DEVELOPMENT OF FOREST CERTIFICATION» - PEFC Russia.
