Introduction to the proposed amendments to the PEFC Sustainable Forest Management standard
EU Deforestation Regulation
We held a special information webinar, open to everyone, on 12 June, to introduce the proposed modifications to the PEFC Sustainable Forest Management standard for EUDR alignment.
The PEFC SFM Working Group has added and amended a number of requirements to the PEFC Sustainable Forest Management standard (ST 1003) to ensure that PEFC-certified raw material coming out of PEFC-certified forests is EUDR compliant.

New and amended requirements
The proposed modifications cover the EUDR’s forest categorisation structure, including the availability of geolocation, and address forest degradation. While the cut-off date in PEFC ST 1003 is already compliant with the EUDR requirements, you have the possibility to express your views on that aspect as well.
The consultation
Public consultations are a vital part of the development process of our standards. They are when you can read the draft standard, make your comments, and give direct feedback. Every comment made will get an answer. The consultation closed on 13 July 2024.
