Presentation webinar of GD 2001, chain of custody related requirements
Standard development webinar
Earlier this month we published the revised GD 2001, Chain of Custody of Forest and Tree Based Products and Related Standards – Guidance for Use. A revolutionary guidance document covering all three chain of custody related standards.
To provide you with more information, we held a special information webinar on 7 December to introduce the revised GD 2001 and answer your questions.

The guide
By combining guidance for the three chain of custody standards (ST 2001 Trademarks, ST 2002 Chain of Custody, and ST 2003 Certification Body Requirements – Chain of Custody) into one document, we have simplified the process for users to find the guidance they need.
To ensure it is easy to find any guidance, clarification, or interpretation associated with a specific requirement, the GD has a two-column format with the guidance next to the corresponding requirement.
It will also be our first technical document using a “live approach”. Through our clarification and interpretations procedure, we will update the guidance regularly, for example, when new clarification and interpretations are issued.
To move forward with the transition to the 2020 versions of the chain of custody standards, GD 2001 clarifies that certificates issued against the 2013 version of the Chain of Custody standard won’t be valid from 14 November 2023 onwards.
