18 November 2014 Collaboration Fund
PEFC members and other non-profit organizations are encouraged to submit proposals for new and innovative projects before the competition deadline of 4 April 2015.
“Since we began the Collaboration Fund in 2011, we have invested nearly half a million Swiss Francs into a wide range of innovative and unique projects that are helping us to stimulate growth in sustainable forest management around the world,” said James Griffiths, Head of Projects and Development at PEFC International.
“We are excited to launch the fifth edition of our Collaboration Fund, and look forward to mobilizing even more unique and fresh ideas from partners committed to supporting PEFC's efforts in stimulating growth in forest certification.”
Since PEFC’s Collaboration Fund was first launched in 2011, 20 projects have been funded.
In fact, thanks to the Collaboration Fund, over the past four years PEFC has invested almost 450,000 CHF and leveraged around 350,000 CHF of additional co-funding into a wide range of innovative projects located around the world: From the development of a traceability system to track mushrooms from the forest to the plate in Spain, to an online system to help small forest owners become certified in the UK, Ireland and Netherlands, or supporting small forest owners to ensure that forest certification is within their reach.

Proposals can request a PEFC contribution of anything up to 40,000 CHF and should have a project timeframe up to two years. Grantees must provide evidence of at least 35% additional co-funding from other sources within the overall project budget. All proposals must be submitted using the application form.
