7 – 11 September will see the global forestry community, PEFC among them, gather together to discuss the key issues facing our forests and to share ways of addressing them.

Forests are essential to life on our planet, to mitigating and adapting to climate change, ensuring adequate supply of fresh water, enhancing biodiversity and providing sustainable incomes and livelihoods, including food security. But they face unprecedented and unrelenting pressures.
7 – 11 September will see the global forestry community, PEFC among them, gather together to discuss these very issues and to share ways of addressing them, at occasion of the 14th World Forestry Congress, hosted by the Republic of South Africa.
Several members of the PEFC International team will be travelling down to Durban, South Africa, to take part in a range of panel discussions and side events.
On the Thursday, PEFC International CEO Ben Gunneberg will be part of the panel during the ‘Innovation and Investment Forum’ as well as in the sub-theme dialogue on ‘Encouraging product innovation and sustainable trade’. Sarah Price, Head of Projects and Development at PEFC International, will also be part of the sub-theme dialogue ‘Forests for socio-economic development and food security’.
