PEFC looks to the future at PEFC Week

16 November 2017 News

Monday morning of PEFC Forest Certification Week, taking place in Helsinki, Finland, was dedicated to these new and potential PEFC members. Representatives from 14 countries, covering Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe filled out the room.

Detailed discussions on the PEFC endorsement process, advice on how to run the day to day activities of a national forest certification system, and an introduction to group certification and other critical issues for new members, were all on offer.

Alongside PEFC International staff, several longstanding members, including both national and international stakeholder members, were also on hand to share their experience of running national systems or promoting PEFC over the years.

The opportunities for our new and potential members continued as PEFC Week progressed, culminating in the PEFC Stakeholder Dialogue on today.
