Textile Exchange Webinar: Creating lasting value for forests with sustainable manmade cellulosic fibres
Fashion event
This Textile Exchange Webinar, co-hosted with PEFC, explored how sustainable forest management and responsible sourcing of manmade cellulosic fibres (MMCF) creates lasting value for the world’s forests.
The webinar looked at how PEFC certification supports the fashion sector’s drive to sustainability, enables the responsible sourcing of wood fibre, and how together, we can protect forests around the world.
The recording of the webinar is available below:
Taking place virtually on 20 January at 16:00 CET, it provided an insight into sustainable forest management, the scope of PEFC and an introduction to our standards.
The webinar was of particular interest to apparel brands, retailers and suppliers interested in finding out more about the sustainability credentials of using MMCF sourced from certified, sustainably managed forests.
Fashion brands and retailers have a huge opportunity to help champion and support the sustainable management of the world’s forests, bringing benefits to you, our forests and the world.

Sustainable forest fibres
Natural and renewable forest fibres have the potential to make the fashion industry more sustainable. But the origin of these fibres is critical and must be proven.
This is where PEFC and sustainable forest management comes in, protecting our forests and the people that depend on them, while providing us with the materials needed to create our clothes.
