Darkness, light and magic win PEFC Italy’s photo contest

Sunrays, wild animals and an
enchanted forest star in PEFC Italy’s winning images, chosen out of more than 900 photos entered into the national contest.Mattia Sarini won first prize for his image ‘La prima lama di luce che taglia il buio della notte’ (The first blade of light that cuts the darkness of the night), taken in Valle Stura in northern Italy.
The silver medal went to
Ruggero Alberti for his photo ‘Il bosco incantato’ (The enchanted forest). Taken in the Italian Dolomite Mountains, the photo depicts a larch forest emerging from the fog, creating a magical scene.“Suddenly the wind cleared the fog and revealed the forest below me for a few seconds. When I look at my photo, I see a fairy tale forest, full of magic and mystery,” told Mr. Alberti.
Roberto Roscetti came in third
with his image 'Cera una volta’ (Once upon a time), taken in the Natural Park of Stupinigi in northern Italy, where one can spot a variety of animals.“On a winter morning, I hid in the bushes and could witness the wonder of nature,” said the photographer.
The Prizes
For first place, Mr. Sarini wins a weekend for two at the Il cielo di Strela farm in a PEFC-certified forest in Parma, including a hiking tour organized by the Trekking Taro and Ceno Group.
Mr. Alberti receives a pair of PEFC-certified wooden sunglasses made by DOLPI, and Mr. Roscetti an experience day for four people at the Fattoria del legno in the province of Vicenza.
